“These three pieces of musical majesty by Vangelis generate an awareness of the ominous force, yet serene tranquility of the sea. The vastness of the ocean surges against the coastline and reminds us that beneath the sparkling allure of the waves lies a terrible strength, ready to rise up with overwhelming power. My (rovingrepairbot) photos were intertwined to accompany the themes from The Bounty and extend a visual link to the listener, so that they might immerse themselves into these sweeping measures.” (youtube – rovingrepairbot)

“This is one of the best film scores I have ever heard, it fits the film beautifully, the menace, the desire, the longing and the total hopelessness of it all. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, the acting was top notch and the scenery and cinematography were together a thing of beauty to behold. However it was because of Vangelis and this masterpiece of a film score that brought it all together. If you haven’t read the book that this particular version of the film is based on I urge you to seek it out and read it, with Vangelis for company of course.” (youtube – ropes64)
